The emotions that erupt from change are pivotal to assessing risk.

We need to be willing to let our intuition guide us, and then be willing to follow that guidance directly and fearlessly.

Leadership Mentoring
Recognize Management & Leadership Potential
Consulting Services to support talented leaders in transition
Leaders command commitment, define goals, and project strength. Leadership is more about the persona; management is more about the role. Key staff members must be empower to escape their technical silos by testing their abilities as a manager and a leader. Be prepared for greater responsibility by staying connected and avoiding isolation. Obtain the support of a temporary mentor as leaders implement change initiatives and establish career relationships.
Leadership mentoring supports personal growth:
INDIVIDUAL LEADERSHIP MENTORING: Transition Support
Leadership requires continuous risk and action.
MTM's Leadership Mentoring service works with established leaders in transition as well as new leaders.
Established leaders require support,
communication bridges, and assistance with existing relationships. Private
counsel and project facilitation keep an executive-in-change in touch with
decision makers and influencers: staying informed to make the right decisions.
New leaders are encouraged to continue the training
they received in MTM's TRANSITION TO
MANAGEMENT seminar. Applying the concepts introduced in the group forum,
they now work privately with a Mentor to develop a plan and prepare for
leadership opportunities.
4 CRITICAL EVENTS LEAD TO EXPLORATION OF LEADERSHIP POTENTIAL
Critical life junctures present
opportunities for personal growth. Use these events to help key staff explore
their leadership potential. An MTM professional will serve as an interim Mentor
to address the immediate crisis. Concurrently, the individual works to meet job
demands and searches for a long-term life-mentor.
Are
any of your staff at one of the following
It forces change and expands an
individual's options. Don't bring old bad habits and weak communication skills
with you to your next position. Use this opportunity to improve your morale,
learn from the past and plan for a successful future. When you have made the
transition and are ready to expand your leadership skills to help you succeed at
new career, contact the MTM.
2) Changing jobs is
not always the answer.
A fresh look at your work, the
people you work with, and your accomplish-ments, can do wonders for sagging
morale. Step back and objectively critique yourself. How do you contribute to
the current project or relationship situations? Which 'hot buttons' do others
hit to throw you off your stride? When you want to maintain your leadership
role, contact the MTM.
3) Moving from a
technical position to a management role is a growth opportunity.
As a talented technical expert,
you had no trouble advancing in your career. Now you are making the jump to
management. Although you are assuming new responsibilities, you are giving up
some control of your future: you will now be judged on the performance of those
that report to you. When you are ready to develop your leadership skills and
build career momentum, contact the MTM.
4)
Joining a new team or department opens new doors for experience and
opportunity.
This is your chance to shine. Whether the job change is the result of a promotion or a merger, learn to position yourself to succeed and to develop new, effective habits that support your success.
